Greensboro Citizens Protest Carried Interest Tax Penalty Bill

The citizens of my hometown took to the streets this weekend to protest the tax penalty bill introduced last Friday that would increase by 133% the taxes on carried interest derived from long-term investments.

Pictures of the protest follow.

Percy appeals for calm.

Protesters burn an effigy of Vic Fleischer, whose "Two and Twenty" paper calling for a change in the tax treatment of carry has cause this war against private equity, hedge fund and other alternative asset managers.

Angry protesters with "Capitalism Rocks!" sign march down Greene Street in downtown Greensboro.

Police arrest "Naked for Percy" protesters.
