Anal Fixation

There is a trend among activist hedge fund managers to use anus references in their 13D filings.  To wit:
  • Robert L. Chapman, Jr., Managing Member of Chapman Capital L.L.C., recently called James A. Cole, a 20-year director of Vitesse Semiconductor, "James A. (Hole)/Cole." (Scroll down to Exhibit F.)
  • Chapman told the General Counsel of Building Materials Holding Corporation to "remove [his] head from the dark orifice in which it seems naturally to find itself." (Scroll down to Exhibit G.)
  • Daniel S. Loeb, CEO of Third Point LLC, accused the Board of Directors of Nabi Pharmaceuticals of hiding their heads in "the nearest warm aperture."
What should we make of this?  I believe that the amount of punishment used during toilet training determines which event-driven strategies a child will grow up to use.  Be careful.
