Percy Salutes Sarkozy
I am pleased by French President-Elect Nicolas Sarkozy's unapologetic response to the criticism surrounding his decision to vacation on a billionaire's yacht and travel on a billionaire's jet. Says Sarkozy:
"Vincent Bolloré, one of the great French industrialists, has never worked for the state and does honour to the French economy. I wish lots of Vincent Bollorés on the French economy, men who are able to invest to create jobs."You know, it's not a disgrace to have worked hard, to have created a big group, to give out jobs."
I'm also thankful that Sarkozy didn't pull a John Edwards and claim that he spent time on the yacht in order to learn more about the relationship between yachts and poverty.
Now, if we could just get Sarkozy to tone down his anti-hedge fund rhetoric. . . .
