New York Times Copies Percy

I've grown accustomed to finding what I write on this blog reformulated and presented a day or two later on the New York Times' Dealbook blog without any credit to me.  I usually shrug it off since there are only so many things one can blog about in the world of high finance, and Dealbook could always make a plausible claim that the timing and content were a mere coincidence.  Today, however, Dealbook can make no such claim.

Yesterday, I blogged about my involvement in Ultimate Fighting.  Today, for the first time in Dealbook history, there is a story about Ultimate Fighting:
The Ultimate Fighting Championship, the largest mixed martial arts league, said Tuesday it would buy its major competitor, Japanese Pride Fighting Championships. The combination, which has been the subject of industry speculation for weeks, would create a giant in the sport, in which opponents punch, kick, squeeze and elbow each other in a way that makes boxing look like ballroom dancing.
