Percy Launches Blogger-Only Country Club
I'm as sick as the rest of you about the current state of our country clubs. Clubs that once were invitation-only and the exclusive province of those who had nowhere else to climb socially are now quickly filling with people who apply for membership and, excuse the redundancy, social climbers. A country club member once was expected to have a certain level of classiness, but now, it seems, one must merely have the willingness and means to pay fees and dues on time.
I've decided to renounce all of my country club memberships (except for Augusta National and Baltusrol) and start a club of my own. This new club will be limited to the best and the brightest of the blogging community. Standards will be high (as will fees and dues), but your membership will carry with it the prestige missing from all but a handful of other country clubs.
I'll be privately inviting fellow bloggers to join over the next few weeks. If I have ever commented on or linked to your blog or if you are blogger who has been permitted to comment on this blog, consider yourself invited (as I've already done sufficient background checks on you to extend an invitation).
Together let's bring country club membership back to the place of honor and prestige it once held in our society.

I look forward to receiving my invitation. However, I would like the opportunity to check the list of invitees as there are some who, on the surface, may seem to be suitable, but in fact are not. I certainly wouldn't want to be in the same "club" as some of these people.
Not that I'm a snob or anything.
Just list the undesirables names here in the comments section and I'll make sure they aren't invited.
I'm no snob, either, unless by "snob" you mean a person who considers himself better than his inferiors, in which case I may very well be a snob.
