Here's my list of the top 5 SEC Chairmen of all times:
1. Christopher Cox
2. William H. Donaldson
3. Harvey L. Pitt
4. Arthur Levitt
5. Richard C. Breeden
Update: A reader notes that my top 5 Chairmen are also the most recent 5 Chairmen and suggests that I'm trying to curry favor with the SEC because of its anger over my funding of Wrongly Accused Securities Purchasers and Sellers, a support group for victims of overzealous SEC enforcement actions. My response is that my association with WASPS — or the SEC's view of it — has nothing to do with this list.
